SOCIAL SKILLS CLASSES COMING IN JANUARY!!!Starting Thursday, January 19th, we will be hosting a social skills class for middle and high school students. It will take place the third Thursday of every month from 6:30-7:30 here in our office.
Topics will range from initiating and exchanging conversation to reading body language. Typical peers will periodically be involved.
Each class will be $25, payment must be made prior to or on the date of the class. Details will be posted on our website-www.lakeshorespeech.com.
We hope to start another social skills class for ages 7-11 this spring. Please let us know if you have an interest in your child attending.
LANGUAGE TIP OF THE MONTH:
Make a Snowman: You can do this activity in the great outdoors or move your snowman-making inside, using pieces of precut construction paper for three large snowballs and adornments. Have the child walk you through the process of making a snowman verbally, helping him to build as you go. Give choices for the eyes, nose, hat, mouth and other decorations. If you're working outside, for example, bring a few different potential snowman hats. Those working indoors should have cut-outs in different colors ready. Have the child describe each type of decoration he wants before you put it on.
